To have fun while learning more about photography & how to take better
photographs.
The club is open to any Villages resident who is interested in photography. However, we expect
that our programs will appeal most to casual and recreational beginner and intermediate photographers .
Our season runs from September through June,
on the first, third, and, when available, fifth Thursdays of the month at Lake Miona Regional Recreation Center. Meetings are scheduled from 9:30-12:20 on the first Thursday and 9:30-12:50
on the third and fifth Thursdays.
Doors open at 9:00. Refreshments are served. product or service you'd like to show.

First Thursday of the Month - Photo Sharing
There are no contests or judging. We encourage members with all levels of experience to submit photos for discussion. See Section below for complete instruction on how to submit photos
Third Thursday of the Month - Presentations
Presentations will be on topics at various levels of interest and experience, depending on the availability of speakers. Basic topics will be repeated during the year.
Fifth Thursday of the Month
These few days during the year have no set plan, but may include field trips, photo sharing, presentations, discussion groups, or lab exercises
Field Trips
Any member may organize a group field trip either for the 5th Thursday of a month or a non-meeting day. We encourage everyone to get out and about to take photos.
In March of each year, the Sunset Pointe Photography Club holds their Annual Photo Showcase. The showcase provides a platform for our members to display their work, share their visual narrative and discuss with you photo techniques and artistic styles.
Our next Showcase is March 21, 2026
Club Members may submit their photos by using the button below or by email to Spointe.Share@gmail.com prior to noon on the Wednesday before the photo share meeting or by bringing in a thumb drive the morning of the meeting. Members can provide 3 photos to be shown during the initial photo share session. We ask that a before and after image of the photos be submitted to provide a level of discussion on the how's and why's of the individual photo. Members can submit more than 3 images but the additional photos will be put in an Extras Folder and shown as time permits.
